The journey of Abhijith Gurukkal is woven into the ancient art of Kalaripayattu and Kalari Marma Treatments. From a young age, his passion led him to train under revered Gurus, absorbing the wisdom of movement, healing, and energy. His relentless pursuit of knowledge revealed a stark truth: these profound healing practices were often out of reach for ordinary people. Yet, he saw how ailments—physical pain and mental anguish—could find lasting relief through Kalari Marma and Kalaripayattu. He also noticed talented young practitioners abandoning the art for lack of viable prospects, as Kalaripayattu rarely promised a sustainable path. Determined to change this, Abhijith, alongside co-founders Jacob Rohan Joseph and Aparna Sathianathan, founded a sacred haven. Here, seekers heal through ancient practices, while gifted youth are nurtured under his guidance, ensuring this timeless wisdom endures for generations.

With over 30 years of expertise in Kalaripayattu and 20 years in Kalari Marma Therapy, Abhijith Gurukkal hails from a family of Kalaripayattu warriors and started training under his father T Ashokan at the age of 6. He mastered the Vadakkan (Northern) style of Kalaripayattu under Sudakaran Gurukkal of CVN Kalari, Kozhikode. Later he honed his skills in the Aruppukai lineage and explored Pillathangi and Thekken styles under various gurus across Kerala, while mastering various Kalari Marma treatment techniques.
Abhijith showcased Kalaripayattu globally, including at the 2010 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony in New Delhi. He served 10 years at Ashwini Kalari Marma Treatment Centre in Varkala before founding Thejaswini Kalari Marma Treatment Centre in Chennai.
In 2024, he returned to Varkala to establish Ojaswi Kalaripayattu and Wellness Center, dedicated to sharing the ancient wisdom of Kalaripayattu and Kalari Marma Therapy with global seekers. Focused on training the next generation of Kalari masters and healers, his center is gaining international acclaim.
